Every report leads with a pass rate: the share of applicable checks your site passed. It is a ratio, not a grade curve, so a site with fewer applicable checks is not penalised for the ones that do not apply to it.
What counts towards the score
- Passes, failures and warnings are all in the denominator. A warning counts against you exactly as much as a failure.
- Checks that do not apply to your site are excluded entirely. They neither help nor hurt.
- Informational checks are excluded too. They are there to tell you something, not to grade you.
That last point is worth internalising: fixing a warning moves your score more than adding a brand-new passing check, because the warning is already in the denominator.
The five pillars
Checks are grouped by what they let an agent do, rather than by which vendor published the standard:
- Discoverability: can an agent find your site and work out what it offers?
- Understanding: can it read and interpret your content?
- Operability: can it actually use the page, click things and fill forms?
- Trust and Security: can it transact safely?
- Commerce: can it complete a purchase? Shown for online stores only.
Findings and severity
A Full audit adds behavioural findings, each scored out of ten from what the agent actually experienced. Seven and above is a pass, four to six is a warning, below four is critical.
Work down from critical. Each finding carries the specific change that resolves it, and the Quick Wins section at the top of the report is ordered by impact against effort.
Sharing the report
- Every report exports as a PDF.
- Every report has a shareable page you can send to someone without an account.
- On the Pro and Agency plans, both carry your branding instead of ours. See the white-label guide.
